Manchester City fans are confident one of their stars is back to his best after his performance against Napoli on Thursday night.
Pep Guardiola’s men opened up their Champions League campaign with a comfortable 2-0 win over the Italian champions, which was made a lot easier after Giovanni Di Lorenzo was sent off after 21 minutes.
Goals from Erling Haaland and Jeremy Doku secured the three points for City, with the latter adding to his impressive performance against Man United at the weekend.
Man City fans think Doku has finally reached his best level at the Etihad Stadium following another impressive display on Thursday against Napoli.

Man City fans think Jeremy Doku is back to his best
It became clear during the FIFA Club World Cup that Doku would be Guardiola’s starting left winger for the 2025/26 campaign, with the Belgian star impressing in the United States.
The 23-year-old has had a mixed start to the current season; however, Doku was electric last time out against Man United, and he has now followed that up with an impressive display against Napoli.
After scoring an impressive second goal for Man City against the Italian champions, fans of the Manchester club believe the Belgium international is back to his best in a sky blue shirt.
One fan wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter): “I’m happy to see the Doku breakthrough finally after ages of bashing. He is eating, we are also eating.”
A second City supporter added: “Doku is a brilliant player. The man has stepped up his play, no doubt. Man City are ready to dominate matches again.”
A final Man City fan said: “Doku deserves all the apologies from City fans who were against him.”
Guardiola has a serious player on their hands if Doku can keep this run of form up, as it has been well documented that the Belgian was just missing end product from his game.
Jeremy Doku’s match vs Napoli in numbers
Doku’s performance against Napoli passed the eye test as the winger caused havoc for the Italian champions’ defence, and the numbers back that up.
The 23-year-old ended his night with a goal, one shot on target, created four chances, had 11 touches in the opposition box, completed three successful dribbles, completed one of two crosses, and had a pass accuracy of 86%.
Thursday night was very encouraging from Doku, especially off the back of his display against Man United, as consistency has been missing from the Belgian ever since he arrived from Rennes during the summer of 2023.
Guardiola has shown a lot of faith in the winger so far this season, and it looks like it is about to pay off for the legendary coach.
