Manchester City secured a much-needed 1-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur in what was yet another box-office encounter between both sides.
Erling Haaland opened the scoring, finishing with aplomb after Jeremy Doku set him up as Manchester City were running riot.
City shot themselves in the foot, however as both Haaland and Savinho missed sitters that could have put the game beyond Tottenham after the first 45 minutes itself.
But for much of the second half, Spurs dominated proceedings and perhaps on another day, they would have taken at least a point home.
However, Pep Guardiola will be all smiles having witnessed his Manchester City side take a significant step in their race for top four by beating Tottenham.
Guardiola will especially be over the moon about Doku’s scintillating display, who earned heaps of praise from City fans as well.

One Manchester City fan claimed Doku demolished Tottenham right-back Pedro Porro, writing: “Doku is absolutely unplayable. Started by cooking Trent [Alexander-Arnold] and now he’s feasting on [Pedro] Porro and [Brennan] Johnson. He’s him.”
A second City fan also lauded Doku by claiming that he was the best player on the pitch in the first half against Spurs, claiming: “Doku definitely man Of the first half. Should have been out of sight. Poor second half but Gvardiol, Khusanov and Ederson very good throughout.”
A third Manchester City supporter also claimed Doku was a nightmare for Porro to handle, saying: “People really think Trent is the only victim of Doku, pray for Pedro Porro.”
Other fans raved about the Belgian’s potential, with one going as far as to say he could contend for the Ballon d’Or in the future: “Doku can scale up to be a Ballon d’Or podium player in the future in my opinion. Raw tools are alien. And he actively and very honestly self reflects and improves.”
A fifth Manchester City fan also hailed Doku’s ceiling as a player: “Jeremy Doku has 14 G/A in 15 90s this season…he hasn’t even developed a consistent final-action or his box-movement yet either. Sky’s the limit for that boy.”
Finally, a sixth Manchester City supported claimed Doku was the visitors’ standout performers against Tottenham as well: “Doku, by far City’s best player. Been really bright. Had Spurs on the ropes for a spell and let them off the hook. Some poor decisions and passes let them back in the game and they finished the half with some confidence.”

The 22-year-old gave Porro one of the toughest games of his career as simply put, he ran the Spaniard ragged.
Doku is one of the best dribblers in the world and he showed that time and again by dancing past Tottenham’s players on the night.
On another day, the former Rennes forward would have had registered three assists had Haaland and Savinho not missed the chances he put on a plate for them.
The statistics further emphasise on just how excellent Doku was against Tottenham.

Doku misplaced just three of his passes, despite playing such a direct game which stresses just how outstanding he was.
