Manchester City fans have expressed bewilderment over the latest loan move involving one of their “promising” academy graduates.
The Citizens have been busy offloading players this summer as Pep Guardiola looks to streamline his squad.
Plenty of Manchester City youngsters have also gone out on loan to get experience.
For instance, Sverre Nypan has gone to Middlesbrough to get used to the physicality of English football.
However, one academy graduate has just gone on loan to a Polish mid-table side, and City fans reckon this suggests his time at the Etihad is up.

Josh Wilson-Esbrand joins Polish side Radomiak Radom on loan
On Monday, Man City confirmed that Josh Wilson-Esbrand had joined Radomiak Radom on loan for the season.
This is the 22-year-old’s fifth loan move of his career – he has also played for Coventry City, Reims, Cardiff City and Stoke City.
Man City fans feel that such a loan move at this stage of Wilson-Esbrand’s career effectively ends his chances of breaking into Pep Guardiola’s first-team.
“Yeah just let him go at this point,” one fan wrote on X, while another said: “Just sell him.”
Another fan said: “Premier League 2 is a higher standard surely?”
The comments kept coming, with one fan saying: “The guy is on loan every season.”
Another fan said: “Never giving this bloke a chance, are we.”
Another wrote: “Couldn’t have just sold him to a Turkish club? Useless loans.”

Whether Josh Wilson-Esbrand could yet break into Manchester City’s squad
Wilson-Esbrand was a solid EDS player after joining City from West Ham’s academy in October 2019.
He subsequently made his debut for Pep Guardiola’s side in the 6-1 Carabao Cup win over Wycombe Wanderers in September 2021.
However, Wilson-Esbrand – whose contract expires in 2027 – went on to make just two more senior appearances for City.
When it comes to loan spells, a player’s age and loan destination say a lot about his chances of breaking into the first team.
And when a 22-year-old joins a team in Poland, where the level of football is not as high as the likes of Germany, Spain or Italy, it doesn’t bode well for his chances at City.
Obviously Wilson-Esbrand could go on to have an incredible season at Radom and give Guardiola some real food for thought – and that would be great to see.
