Manchester City have worked smartly this summer – impressively signing Rayan Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders for just £77m combined.
Both the France international and the Netherlands international shone in the 4-0 win over Wolves, with each scoring their first goals for Manchester City.
The savviness shown by Hugo Viana – Director of Football at the Etihad Stadium – means there is still money to spend for Pep Guardiola, and a significant salary has now been agreed with Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Italian journalist Ciro Venerato has now told La Domenica Sportiva Estate that Manchester City have agreed an annual salary of €16m (£13.8m) with the Italy international.
Viana is still yet to agree a fee with PSG – who want €35m (£30m) for Donnarumma as they risk losing the goalkeeper for nothing when his terms expire next summer.
Venerato said (via Area Napoli): “A €35m (£30m) deal plus a €16m (£13.8m) salary? That Donnarumma would go to City was always clear to me. I never had any doubts.
“Regarding the transfer figures, we need to see if City will be able to spend less than the €35m (£30m) announced. Regarding the salary, however, (they are) in agreement. It was one of the reasons for the split with PSG. Gigi wanted to improve his salary compared to the situation he was experiencing in France, and €16m (£13.8m) is certainly a very significant sum.”
Donnarumma has earned a nomination for the Ballon d’Or award after keeping 17 clean sheets in 45 appearances for PSG last season – helping Luis Enrique win the treble.

Manchester City are trying to agree a new contract with Rodri, and this deal for Donnarumma – who Manchester United also like – would potentially cause issues in talks with the Spaniard.
A salary of £13.8m-a-year would make the Italian the fourth-highest earner at the Etihad Stadium, behind Erling Haaland, Bernardo Silva and Omar Marmoush.

It means Donnarumma will be above Rodri and Phil Foden in the salary list if Manchester City can agree a fee with PSG, as well as other senior players such as Ilkay Gundogan and Ruben Dias.
Donnarumma may not even start under Guardiola initially with James Trafford selected in goal against Wolves on Saturday, which would make his wages an even larger talking point – should a move to Manchester City materialise.
