Manchester City have now made contact to sign Fluminense wonderkid Matheus Reis.

Well, Europe’s elite clubs are always on the lookout for emerging Brazilian talent, and are prepared to spend heavily on the nation’s top prospects.
Real Madrid – for example – recently spent €70m (£61m) to sign Endrick from Palmeiras, while Manchester City are also monitoring another of the Brazilian outfit’s gems, Estevao.
Now – according to Calciomercato – Estevao is not the only South American talent in Manchester City’s sights, as contact has been made with Fluminense for Reis.
The 16-year-old is said to have a release clause worth €50m (£44m) written into his contract at Fluminense, although Calciomercato believe this sum does not scare England’s greatest clubs.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are also keen to sign Reis, according to the report, while Manchester City are also warned to expect interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid as well.

Given the fact Reis is just 16 years of age, it is unlikely that many people know about him – therefore, a comparison to a better known player may help.
Interestingly, Calciomercato compared the Brazil Under-17 international to Gabriel Jesus in their article, someone Manchester City fans know all about after his five-year stint at the Etihad Stadium.
The Brazil international – now at Arsenal – scored 95 goals in 236 appearances for Manchester City, winning four Premier League titles along the way as well as one FA Cup and four League Cups.
Jesus also emerged from Palmeiras – like Endrick – so the Brazilian side are clearly superb at bringing young talent through the ranks.
