Manchester City are being linked with a forward that could see Phil Foden’s position change for good.
Foden has been grabbing all the headlines in recent weeks with a string of match-winning performances and crucial goals for City.
The 23-year-old has had great success playing in a central position but it hasn’t been made his permanent home just.
Pep Guardiola deployed Foden back on the wing in Tuesday’s 3-1 Champions League win over FC Copenhagen, in which he scored the third goal.
Foden certainly has his sights set on holding a creative midfielder position permanently and the signing of another wide forward could open the door for him.
Man City linked with Wolves forward Pedro Neto
Ahead of the summer transfer window, City have been linked with Wolves forward Pedro Neto.
According to Football Transfers, Wolves have accepted they will likely have to sell their star man in the summer amid growing interest from top Premier League clubs.
City are expected to be ‘major players’ in the race for Neto but Arsenal and Liverpool are credited with heavy interest as well.
It’s added that a move for the 23-year-old could be a ‘catalyst’ for Foden to move into the middle of the park.
Wolves reportedly won’t let Neto go without a fight, though, and will demand an £80m fee for his signature.

Man City know how good Pedro Neto is
City are already intimately familiar with just how good Neto can be after he was instrumental in handing them their first Premier League defeat of the season.
The Blues lost to Wolves in September and were torn to pieces by the rapid Neto, who set up the opening goal with a powerful run from his own half in which he shrugged off two City players.
City struggled against Neto’s pace all afternoon and it’s the sort of speed that would suit the side.
The signing of Jeremy Doku in the summer has seen Guardiola move back towards more traditional wing play, utilising speed and skill to beat defenders rather than cutting inside, and Neto would certainly fit that trend.
His quality is already obvious. Imagine how much better he could get under Guardiola.
