Manchester City are expected to make signings this summer despite a busy winter transfer window.
In his first summer as Director of Football at the Etihad Stadium, Hugo Viana has a significant job on his hands to make Manchester City competitive again, as Pep Guardiola faces the prospect of ending the 2024/25 campaign without a trophy if the FA Cup is not secured.
Alarmingly, the Citizens have lost 15 of their last 31 games across all competitions.
Manchester City want Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen as a marquee addition – although a bargain could also be made to bolster the defensive department in the form of Crystal Palace No.12 Daniel Munoz.
Manchester City could sign Daniel Munoz for £25m
A story from The Sun now states that Manchester City have made the Colombia international a target for the summer.
Munoz has shone for Crystal Palace this season with five goals and five assists in 33 appearances across all competitions, proving to be one of the most adventurous right-backs in England.

One of those five goals came against Manchester City in the 2-2 draw at Selhurst Park back in December, and the South American could soon replace Kyle Walker at the Etihad Stadium.
The Sun add that Munoz has a release clause worth just £25m written into his contract at Crystal Palace, which is expected to be triggered by one of England’s biggest clubs this summer, according to the report.
Hugo Viana could kickstart his Manchester City career with a masterful signing
Signing Munoz for just £25m would be a fantastic way for Viana – who also likes Viktor Gyokeres – to begin life at Manchester City after replacing Txiki Begiristain.
The 28-year-old is a real livewire down the right flank for Crystal Palace, and would provide the energy Walker used to offer Guardiola in that area.
A sum of £25m for Munoz, who is right in the midst of his prime, would be a real bargain in the modern era, an age where other full-backs, such as the likes of Marc Cucurella, have cost Chelsea upwards of £60m.
