Matheus Nunes is the man of the moment at Manchester City.
The Portugal international netted a crucial 94th minute winner over Aston Villa on Tuesday to hand Manchester City a huge boost in the battle for UEFA Champions League qualification, his first Premier League goal of the season in 23 appearances.
Additionally, the Manchester City No.27 can boast five assists.

It is nothing less than Matheus Nunes deserves after adapting well to his new position at right-back, where he has now made 13 appearances, although a comment from the £53m man in March 2024 might suggest his mother is unhappy with Pep Guardiola about his move away from midfield.
What Matheus Nunes said in March 2024
When asked an innocent question by the club for a video on TikTok last year, the 26-year-old gave a simple response which a lot can now be taken from.
Nunes was asked to name a lookalike of his, opting for Tottenham No.23 Pedro Porro, who actually used to play for Manchester City.
The Brazil-born Manchester City star said: “The one that I think of is Pedro Porro, because my mum used to misunderstand me with him. She would go, why is my son playing right-back?!”
Now, the tone of voice is important here, as Nunes makes it out to sound like his mother previously asked this question in a negative manner, scrunching up his face as he mimics her.
Therefore, it could be assumed that she dislikes seeing her son now permanently stuck in the right-back position, although it might not be the case for much longer.
Manchester City have plans to make a significant signing at right-back
Few expected Kyle Walker to decline so drastically this season, meaning Nunes has been required as something of an emergency option in that area.
However, Manchester City hope to sign Andrea Cambiaso from Juventus in a £60m deal this summer, a top player who can operate on either the left or right of defence.

Should a move materialise as expected, it would free up Nunes to be used in midfield once again.
Walker is expected to be sold – however – when he returns from his loan spell at AC Milan, so after impressing on the right of defence, Nunes should be prepared to play there again, with Cambiaso unlikely to start every single game.
