With Manchester City set to face Copenhagen in the first leg of the Champions League last 16, we have predicted their potential starting lineup.

Pep Guardiola could make as many as four changes to his side that defeated Everton 2-0 on Saturday.

Especially after keeping a clean sheet against Sean Dyche’s side, Ederson Moraes’ chance of starting in net against Copenhagen have been further boosted, as per our predicted Manchester City lineup for the clash.

At right-back, Kyle Walker, who was brought on by Pep Guardiola against Everton could regain his place in a crucial European fixture. In the process, Manuel Akanji could lose his place in the side.

John Stones and Ruben Dias have barely featured in tandem this season and as a result, perhaps the Sky Blues boss may be tempted to start them together in the centre of defence on Tuesday.

Josko Gvardiol, who was benched against Everton could be handed a start against Copenhagen, according to our predicted Manchester City lineup and as a result, Nathan Ake could be given a breather.

In November, Pep Guardiola had claimed that the injury-prone Dutchman “cannot play every three days” and as a result, he may prefer to play it safe and give him a rest in his side’s upcoming encounter.

John Stones, who only played as an inverted right-back for a short period of the contest could be paired with Rodri, who is expected to start in the middle of the park for the entirety of the contest in Denmark.

Considering Matheus Nunes was rather disappointing against Everton, with his performance characterised by his sloppiness in possession and poor decision-making, he may be dropped, with Bernardo Silva taking his place in midfield.

The same can be said about Julian Alvarez, with Kevin De Bruyne looking likely to start as the number ten for Manchester City in their contest against the Danish side.

Especially after the £54 million (The Telegraph) man’s cameo against Everton.

As for the front three of Phil Foden, Erling Haaland and Jeremy Doku, the trio are bang in form and one cannot see either of them not featuring from the get-go in their upcoming Champions League tie.
