As Manchester City prepare to face Young Boys in the Champions League on Wednesday, we have tried to call their predicted lineup.
Coming off the back of their 2-1 victory against Brighton & Hove Albion, we expect Pep Guardiola to make as many as six changes to his side.
Manchester City predicted lineup vs Young Boys
After the Manchester City boss confirmed (via Sky Sports) that he decided to rest Ederson against Roberto De Zerbi’s side by starting Stefan Ortega, the former is expected to return to our predicted lineup against Young Boys.
At right-back, Kyle Walker could also get a breather, with Rico Lewis coming into the side.
Despite Manuel Akanji’s sending off against Brighton, he is eligible to feature in Europe, which is why he could be handed a start on Wednesday.
Alongside the Swiss defender could be Ruben Dias, who could return to the side against Young Boys, with John Stones being handed a rest ahead of the Manchester Derby.
Similarly, Josko Gvardiol could also be benched, with Nathan Ake taking his place at left-back.
Considering Rodri returned from suspension on Saturday, he is expected to keep his place in the side for the upcoming Champions League encounter.
Alongside the Spaniard could be Bernardo Silva, who is also likely to retain his place in the team.
To cap off the midfield, Mateo Kovacic could replace Julian Alvarez against Young Boys.
Phil Foden could drop to the bench, with the in-form Jeremy Doku being handed a rare start on the right wing.

However, the change would come in the form of the Englishman being dropped for Jack Grealish, branded as ‘phenomenal’ by Stephen Clemence starting on the left flank.
Up front, Erling Haaland is expected to start, with the hope that he gets on the scoresheet and feels on top of the world ahead of the Manchester Derby.
