There will be plenty of change at Manchester City this summer.
Pep Guardiola will be looking to bring numerous top quality new signings to The Etihad, and the Spaniard is allegedly ready to show up to eight Manchester City players the exit door.
Manchester City have experienced a tumultuous 2024/25 campaign to say the least.
The FA Cup is the only trophy that Pep and his players have left to play for, although qualification for next season’s Champions League will obviously be a priority as well.

Whatever happens between now and the end of the season, you can expect a huge turnover of players at Man City during the summer transfer window.

Pep will undoubtedly be keen to make some statement signings.
Kevin De Bruyne will leave The Etihad this summer, and replacing him will arguably be the most important job for Guardiola this summer.
However, it could be argued that one player in particular who is being eyed by the Man City manager is not quite good enough to make a game-changing contribution for his team.
Manchester City’s move to sign Morgan Gibbs-White is a backwards step
It emerged on Tuesday that Nottingham Forest ace Morgan Gibbs-White is a transfer target for Manchester City.
Described by The Athletic as a ‘phenomenal’ player, Gibbs-White certainly has real talent.
However, is the 25-year-old really at the level required to make a difference for Man City? And more importantly, is he anywhere near good enough to serve as a replacement for Kevin De Bruyne?
The answer to both of those questions is almost certainly no.
Gibbs-White has energy and athleticism in abundance.
His attributes are perfectly suited to Nottingham Forest’s counter-attacking system.

However, there are big question marks regarding his suitability to Pep’s possession-based system at Man City.
Kevin De Bruyne and Morgan Gibbs-White compared
The Belgian’s numbers are like night and day to the Englishman’s.
De Bruyne is an absolute magician who makes things happen at the drop of a hat, whilst Gibbs-White’s game is based more around pace and physicality.
The 33-year-old has bagged 153 goals and 260 assists in 643 career games – a goal contribution every 1.55 games.
Meanwhile, Gibbs-White has racked up 34 goals and 44 assists in 258 career games – a goal contribution every 3.3 games.
The numbers are not even close.
And if Pep Guardiola does bring Morgan Gibbs-White to Manchester City as Kevin De Bruyne’s replacement this, it would be a huge surprise.
