Mateo Kovacic has now named the three Manchester City teammates he would take with him on a desert island.
The Croatia international was speaking on the club’s official YouTube channel.
So, which Manchester City teammates did Mateo Kovacic choose? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, the Manchester City No.8 has only been at the Etihad Stadium since June – when he sealed a £25m move from Chelsea.
However, Kovacic has settled quickly enough to select three teammates he would be happy to be isolated with on a desert island.
Speaking on YouTube, the 29-year-old said: “I would rather go with my family somewhere! But, if I had to choose teammates, it would be, obviously Josko (Gvardiol) is the first, because we have known each other quite a long time.
“Maybe Nathan Ake, and Rodri, the third.”

Ake certainly seems to be a popular figure around the Etihad Stadium, as Kevin De Bruyne also named the £40m Dutchman as his closest teammate before Kovacic said he would take him on a desert island.
Kovacic has helped Gvardiol at Manchester City
Kovacic has shown his class in 11 appearances so far for Manchester City, but he is also playing a key role off the pitch with Gvardiol.
In the pair’s chat on YouTube, the £77.6m defender revealed that his fellow countryman has helped him adapt to life at the Etihad Stadium, and is always by his side as he acclimatises to his new surroundings in Manchester.

It is easy to forget that Gvardiol is just 21 years of age, and it must have been tough for someone so young to join a treble winning side, with one of the most demanding managers around at the helm and also for such a large transfer fee.
Therefore, Kovacic was always going to be key in helping his fellow Croatian settle, and Gvardiol’s ever improving performances suggest things are going well with his bedding in period.
