One player linked with Manchester City did something at Euro 2024 on Tuesday that left Micah Richards and Alan Shearer seriously impressed.
England fans are gearing up for tonight’s game with the Netherlands, for a chance to face Spain in the final on Sunday.
Spain defeated France in the first semi-final last night, and it was a fine performance from the favourites, with 16-year-old Lamine Yamal the talk of the town after his stunning equaliser in the game.
The starlet has blown people away this tournament, and he finally got himself on the scoresheet last night, making history as the youngest-ever scorer in the finals.
It was a sensational goal – but credit must also go to the scorer of Spain’s other goal on the night – Dani Olmo.
Micah Richards and Alan Shearer wowed by Dani Olmo after Spain defeat France

France took the lead last night early on when Kylian Mbappe’s cross found Randal Kolo Muani at the back post.
But Spain did not panic, and played their usual stylish game.
They were so sharp in and around the box, and they then got back on level terms through Yamal. Not long after, Spain took the lead.
A headed clearance was brilliantly gathered by Olmo, who took the ball down with one touch, before shifting the ball away from Aurelien Tchouameni.
He then lashed his effort towards the far post, and defender Jules Kounde could not prevent it from going in.
The technical quality on show from Olmo was a sight to behold, and his goal led to praise from BBC pundits Richards and Shearer after the game.
Richards said: “It was very tasty (the goal). Losing Pedri was obviously big for this side, but it’s how you react when you get into the team. He’s obviously a very good player, I’ve seen him play a lot especially at Leipzig.
“It’s just his movement. Then it’s a touch, one, two can you finish? Absolutely.”
Shearer added: “Brilliant. The balance is unbelievable. You’ve got a split second to think ‘How am I going to do that?’ then the first touch and then the second touch.”
Olmo is a talent and City interest in understandable
It has been suggested that Manchester City like Olmo, and have been considering a move for him this summer.
The player has a release clause worth about £51 million, and it’s possible he could be on the move in this window – his showings at the Euros will have certainly attracted a lot of attention
It is debatable whether City actually need him just at the moment.
Olmo is best in the number 10 role and obviously, City have two world-class operators in that position in Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne.
Olmo can also play out wide, so perhaps he’ll be someone the club push for if Bernardo Silva leaves – although that is starting to feel less likely than it did at the start of the summer.
