Micah Richards has now shared what really happened between Carlos Tevez and Roberto Mancini at Manchester City back in 2011.
The 35-year-old made the comments when speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast alongside Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer.
So, what did Micah Richards say about Carlos Tevez and Roberto Mancini? Let’s take a look…
What Richards said about Tevez and Mancini
Well – as you will surely remember – the Argentine left in the middle of the 2011/12 campaign to play golf after being exiled by the Italian, for allegedly refusing to warm up during a UEFA Champions League clash against Bayern Munich.
Now – however – Richards has shared the truth.

The man who made 246 appearances for Manchester City said: “I don’t think I’ve ever said what happened in the dressing room. Tevez was warming up on the sideline, and he’s warming up for five, ten minutes, ready to go on. Mancini was going to make a sub but changed his mind, and Carlos has basically sat back down on the bench ready to come on.
“He’s then told Tevez to warm up again, and Tevez has basically said, no, I’m fine, I’m ready to come on now if you want to make the sub, and then Mancini – very emotional – basically waved his arms and they were going back and forth, effing and jeffing at each other.
“We got to the dressing room afterwards and Mancini said, you will never play for me ever again… we got together as a group and said, we need Tevez. Mancini was not having it and said, no chance. The owners got involved and they sorted their differences out.”
Mancini was not very popular at Manchester City
By the sounds of it, Mancini’s man management skills were lacking at the Etihad Stadium.

Richards has previously told a story about how a number of players audibly celebrated when the 59-year-old announced he was leaving Manchester City.
Mancini will always be remembered as the man who won Manchester City’s first ever Premier League title, although it sounds as if many players will not remember their time with the Italian too fondly.
