Micah Richards believes Erling Haaland is quite “similar” to Mohamed Salah.
Notably, the popular pundit played with the Liverpool legend during their spell at Fiorentina.
Mohamed Salah (15 goals) has reduced the gap between himself and Erling Haaland (16 goals) in terms of goals scored in the Premier League this season, having bagged one in his side’s latest 4-1 win against Brentford.
Micah Richards says Erling Haaland is “similar” to Mohamed Salah
Much like Salah did in the 2017/2018 season, Haaland also managed to break the goalscoring record for a single campaign in his debut season with City.
Since then, both forwards have managed to become their sides’ main goalscorers.
Now, Micah Richards has explained how Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah are quite similar.

“If you actually look, he’s similar to Mo Salah in they score a lot of goals but they do miss quite a few chances as well. But when you’ve got a team like Man City providing for you, you’re always going to get them chances”, he said on The Rest Is Football podcast.
Erling Haaland is also obsessed with scoring goals like the Liverpool talisman
Perhaps another way in which Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah are similar, which Micah Richards did not mention is their single-minded nature to get goals galore.
After Manchester City’s 6-0 thrashing of Burnley last season, the Norwegian admitted every goal he scores means a lot to him [via the club’s official website].
In February 2018, Mohamed Salah admitted in an interview with FourFourTwo that even before he joined Liverpool, he was confident that he would score a lot of goals and since then, he has become the Premier League’s 10th highest-ever goalscorer with 154 goals.
Goalscoring is an art in itself and unless a player is determined to get as many as possible, they will simply not be able to become consistent at putting the ball in the back of the net.
Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah, however, do not seem to need any motivation to add to their goal tallies at all times for both club and country.
