Micah Richards has named Samir Nasri as one of the two most skilful players he has ever played with.

The Frenchman, who spent six years at Manchester City played an integral role in their success, especially in their first two Premier League title triumphs in 2012 and 2014.

The silky midfielder, who was widely hailed as one of the Premier League’s biggest entertainers left Arsenal in what was viewed as a controversial move to sign for Roberto Mancini’s side at the time.

Micah Richards reveals Samir Nasri was one of the two most skilful players he has ever played with

While the former Marseille technician thrived under Mancini and Pellegrini, he only played 15 minutes of football under Guardiola.

Samir Nasri came on as a late substitute during the Sky Blues’ 3-1 win against West Ham United during a league encounter in August 2016 before being shipped out on loan to Sevilla and signing for Antalyaspor in 2017.

In April, the retired attacker revealed that a row had occurred between him and Pep Guardiola, with the decorated manager scolding him for his weight not being ideal as per his requirements.

Now, Micah Richards has named Samir Nasri alongside David Silva as the two most skilful players he ever played with during his career.

“David Silva, [Samir] Nasri. Nasri, David Silva. Wonderful technique”, he said on The Rest Is Football podcast.

Samir Nasri may come as a surprising answer to many

Considering Micah Richards played with several elite technicians for Manchester City and England, the fact that he mentioned Samir Nasri may come as a shock to many.

The two-time Premier League winner was incredibly skilful but simultaneously, many might wonder why the popular pundit did not name the likes of Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez, Yaya Toure, Wayne Rooney or Steven Gerrard instead of him.

However, those who tuned in to watch Nasri in his heyday must realise just how majestic he was with the ball at his feet.
