Manchester City have had their fair share of legendary players over the years, and many of those have turned out for the club this century.
Obviously Manchester City had some great times in the 1960s and 1970s, but there’s no doubt that the club’s major glory days have come in the 2010s and 2020s.
The likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Sergio Aguero, David Silva and Rodri have etched their names in Man City and Premier League folklore.
Now, Michail Antonio has named a different Man City player as one of the components of his perfect footballer, a selection which includes Lionel Messi and Ronaldo Nazario.

Michail Antonio picks Vincent Kompany as the player with the ideal football IQ
Antonio has been interviewed by the Daily Mail and asked to build a player based on six traits – right foot, left foot, speed, strength, football IQ and personality.
Ronaldo got the nod for his right foot, while Messi was selected for his left-foot prowess and Adama Traore was picked for his speed.
When asked who he’d select when it came to football IQ, Man City legend Vincent Kompany got the nod.
Antonio selected himself for the remaining two traits – strength and personality.

‘The rest is history’: Vincent Kompany’s Manchester City career
Kompany joined Man City from Hamburg in 2008, the Citizens reportedly paying just £6million for his services.
Mark Hughes, the City manager at the time recalled when he brought Kompany to the club that year.
“We sat down and talked and if I’m honest, City weren’t as easy to sell to players at that time because nobody knew what was happening behind the scenes or the possible future that lay ahead,” Hughes told the official Man City website.
“I just felt the club was going places and told Vinnie we needed players like him to get us there and move the club forward.
“I told him the ambition was to be the best team in the Premier League and Vinnie got it very, very quickly and he wanted to be part of that project… the rest is history.”
History indeed. Kompany made 360 appearances for City over an 11-year spell, registering 20 goals, 10 assists, becoming captain, and winning a multitude of trophies.
Kompany lifted four Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups and two Community Shields during his time at the Etihad Stadium.
