Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte has shared a heartfelt message to Riyad Mahrez following his exit from the club.
Having been linked with a move to Al-Ahli in recent weeks, it was officially confirmed earlier today that the 32-year-old has joined the Saudi Arabian club.
Following that, the winger took to social media to share a goodbye message to City and the supporters.
This then led to one of his former teammates sending a reply to the Algerian.
Laporte responds to Mahrez post

In response to Mahrez’s Twitter post, Laporte had this to say to the attacker.
He said: “I miss you already bro. Thank you for all, good luck for your new challenge.”
Laporte arrived at the Etihad Stadium from Athletic Bilbao in a deal worth a reported fee of £57m back in the 2018 January transfer window, just a few months before Mahrez made his way to the club in the following summer window.
During their time together at the Manchester club, the duo featured in 123 games together, winning numerous trophies and racking up three joint goal participations.

Given the amount of time they’ve spent together at City and the number of trophies they’ve won in that time, it’s no surprise that the defender is going to miss the 32-year-old.
Also, taking into account how Mahrez scored 15 goals and provided 13 assists in 47 appearances across all competitions last season, Pep Guardiola could well end up missing the winger as well, especially his prowess in front of goal.
Moving forward, now that the winger has officially left the treble winners, it’ll be interesting to see if they manage to bring in a replacement before the summer transfer window closes.
