Pundit Darius Vassell has shared his delight at seeing Oscar Bobb make his Manchester City debut in their recent 5-1 win over Fulham in the Premier League.

The 20-year-old replaced Phil Foden in the 90th minute of the match against Marco Silva’s side to make his first senior appearance for the Manchester club.

This then led to one pundit and former City player sharing his thoughts on the youngster and what this season could hold for him.

Speaking on a post-match live stream on the club’s official YouTube channel, Vassell had this to say about Bobb and his cameo appearance against Fulham.

He said: “He would’ve enjoyed that, to come on in a game, winning 4-1, get to get on the ball and show a bit, he’s probably going to want more time to do, you can tell that there’s more quality to come from him.

“I think it’s good to see, to get himself out there, there are opportunities there. We’re desperate for him to do well so hopefully that’ll happen.”

During his short spell on the pitch yesterday, the 20-year-old had six touches of the ball, accurately completing the four passes he attempted, in addition to winning the two ground duels he was involved in and successfully completing the two dribbles he made.

In fact, it was an impressive piece of skill from Bobb that led to City’s final goal of the game where Sergio Gomez delivered a cross for Erling Haaland to score his third of the match.

With all of that in mind, it’s easy to see why Vassell was so delighted to see the midfielder come on to make his debut for the Manchester club and why he is excited to see him in action again.

Moving forward, it’ll be interesting to see how much game time Bobb gets throughout the season and if he can become a prominent figure in Pep Guardiola’s side.
