Morgan Gibbs-White has had his say on which midfielder was superior out of two Premier League legends.
Often, a player’s preference when it comes to such questions perhaps makes for the most interesting discoveries, as one can get an insight into how they view football.
Especially active players such as the Nottingham Forest talisman, who is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.
Morgan Gibbs-White shares who was better: Yaya Toure or Patrick Vieira
Morgan Gibbs-White was put to the test when he was quizzed about whether Yaya Toure or Patrick Vieira was the better midfielder.

“Yaya [Toure] was more my time watching Premier League football as a kid. So, I’m going to have to pick Yaya”, he told Amazon Prime Video Sport [via TikTok].
One can understand why the 24-year-old Morgan Gibbs-White sided with Yaya Toure, as he mentioned that Patrick Vieira, who left Arsenal in 2005 was a player who was way before his time of watching football.
The Ivorian signed for Manchester City in 2010, a year in which Gibbs-White turned 10 and by that time, he had probably fallen in love with the beautiful game.
The Nottingham Forest midfielder may have preferred Yaya Toure regardless
However, in our view, Morgan Gibbs-White would perhaps have preferred Yaya Toure to Patrick Vieira if he watched the legendary duo at their absolute best.
Why such an assumption can be made is that much like Toure, Gibbs-White is also an attacking midfielder who dazzles fans and pundits alike, week in and week out.
Like the African Cup of Nations winner, the Englishman is also extremely skilful, despite being quite tall and strong and is also known for getting goals and assists for his side.
As a midfielder who seemingly loves to express himself further up the pitch, Gibbs-White perhaps might have struggled to resonate with Vieira, who was much more of a defensive-minded player than Toure.
