James Trafford has made the suggestion that he idolises now-Celtic goalkeeper and Manchester City legend, Joe Hart.

On Saturday, two-time Premier League winner lauded the 20-year-old on his Instagram post upon saving the decisive penalty against Spain to win England the U-21 Euros.

James Trafford responded to Joe Hart by telling him how much he means to him.

The 36-year-old is clearly a huge admirer of the Manchester City goalkeeper, as he praised him on his other Instagram post by commenting, “Smashed it, pal.”

Branded as ‘incredible’ by Pep Guardiola via GOAL, Hart was one of the biggest contributors to City’s rise before their untouchable dominance of English and European football.

As Joe Hart complimented James Trafford, England U-21’s saviour and the overnight national treasure replied by saying, “My hero.”

Unsurprisingly, the Celtic No.1 is still an inspiration to up-and-coming goalkeepers in the game, despite seeing his stock plummeting for years on end after leaving the Etihad Stadium.

Proves how underappreciated Joe Hart remains

Many would expect one of the game’s most talented young goalkeepers in James Trafford not to worship Joe Hart.

After all, the former England No.1’s career fell apart after his time at Manchester City came to an end, which is how his story is often remembered by the masses.

Even for the national team, Hart’s clanger against Iceland in their unforgettable exit from Euro 2016 is used as a stick to beat him with to this day.

However, in his pomp. Joe Hart was a world-class goalkeeper, known for being an expert shotstopper, especially in Europe.

The Englishman was a wonderkid who actually fulfilled his potential and emerged as one of the primary leaders in a City side that put themselves on the map as a team to be wary of.

While things may not have panned out perfectly for the Scottish Premiership winner, he does remain immensely underrated, as many forget how elite a goalkeeper he was at for more than half a decade.
