Manchester City poster-child Phil Foden has lavished praise on to Nathan Ake in a brand-new interview.
Speaking to the club’s official YouTube channel, the ‘Stockport Iniesta’ named the £41 million (Independent) man as his side’s Player of the Season.
Like every Manchester City fan this season, Phil Foden has also been left blown away by how crucial Nathan Ake has been to the side’s revival.
Manchester City attacker Phil Foden names Nathan Ake as his side’s Player of the Season
Even Micah Richards claimed that after Erling Haaland, the Dutch defender has been the Sky Blues’ standout performer.
After the World Cup, the manner in which Ake has adapted to playing at left-back has been staggering, playing an instrumental role in his side arguably having the best defence in the world, which has been vital behind their treble charge.
Phil Foden clearly realises this, as he was full of praise for his fellow Manchester City teammate Nathan Ake while giving him the ultimate compliment this season.

“I have got mad respect for him. Player of the Season. My player of the season.”
The fact that Nathan Ake is even in the conversation is testament to his astounding progress
A key reason why Phil Foden and several fellow players as well as fans have raved about Nathan Ake is due to his incredible progress.
Since his arrival, the former Bournemouth defender has always been a quality player and has perhaps been slightly underappreciated for his displays in sky blue.
However, before the start of the season, Ake was rightly viewed as a squad player and not much more.
The fact that the three-time Premier League winner has a case for being his side’s best performer alongside the likes of Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne is astonishing.
Ultimately, hats off to Ake for silencing all his doubters and proving that he is not merely just a reliable player but an absolutely cracking footballer.
