A third Manchester City fan found the idea of Akanji finding out that he could be sold to Galatasaray hilarious: “Club didn’t even tell him they want him to go. The fact he found out via Instagram is sending me.”
A fourth Sky Blues supporter joked Hugo Viana may have agreed his own personal terms, stating: “That man Viana is agreeing his own personal terms.”
Another City fan admitted that the idea of Viana letting the Swiss international leave without his knowledge would be brilliant, implying they would like him to depart the Etihad Stadium: “Viana was negotiating Akanji’s exit without telling him. My sporting director.”
Pep Guardiola referred to Akanji as “unbelievable” and a sixth Manchester City fan, who also seems to admire the defender mentioned that if the theory is true, that would a crass way for the club to sell him to Galatasaray: “Let’s be real here, there’s nothing funny about this if that’s genuinely how Akanji found out. Very unprofessional and classless way to get rid of a player.”
However, an update has emerged around the two-time Premier League winner’s future.

First and foremost, Akanji has been a brilliant servant to Manchester City and taking into account how much Pep Guardiola has relied on him over the years, it is easy to see why the fans’ theory about his potential move to Galatasaray is mere fiction.
Furthermore, Fabrizio Romano revealed that the Turkish giants are set to make an offer to sign the former Borussia Dortmund colossus in the next 24 hours.
Romano mentioned that no official offer has been submitted yet and Akanji has shown no signs that he is willing to sign for Okan Buruk’s side.
