Manchester City centre-back Nathan Ake sent a one-word message to Josko Gvardiol after his goal against Luton Town on Saturday.
Manuel Akanji also did the same, commenting, “If you don’t shoot, you don’t score” on the 22-year-old’s Instagram post after City won 5-1 in their latest outing.
Pep Guardiola also sang the Croatian’s praises, hailing how excellent his use of his weak foot is after his stunning strike.
Naturally, Josko Gvardiol has been lauded for his goal as not many centre-backs in world football can strike the ball like he does.
City have some of the most technically gifted defenders at their disposal but even they cannot.
John Stones perhaps comes closest to Josko Gvardiol in this respect but his shooting does not have as much venom in it.

Ake sends one-word message to Gvardiol after City beat Luton
However, Stones has perhaps never tested any goalkeeper with his weaker left foot.
Nathan Ake did produce a terrific finish in Manchester City’s 1-0 win against Arsenal in the FA Cup last season but it was from close range.
Ruben Dias scored an excellent goal with his weaker left foot against Aston Villa in the 2021/2022 campaign.
But can Dias generate the shot power the £77.6 million man can?
One would have to see it from the Portuguese international to believe it.
Gvardiol has proven that after De Bruyne, he might have the best shooting with his weak foot in the City squad.
After Manchester City mauled Luton to go to the top of the Premier League table, Nathan Ake sent a one-word message to Josko Gvardiol on his post-match Instagram post.
“Brate”, he wrote, much like Jack Grealish did on Mateo Kovacic’s post, which means, “brother” in Croatian.
Aside from his goal, Gvardiol was brilliant on Saturday
Manchester City colossus Nathan Ake was seemingly buzzing as Josko Gvardiol got on the score sheet in style against Luton.
While Gvardiol’s goal will grab the headlines, his performance should as well.
Much like against Real Madrid, the youngster was dominant in several other aspects against Rob Edwards’ side.
Josko Gvardiol was touch-tight on his man at all times, not giving them an inch’s space to get by him, with Andros Townsend eventually being taken off during the game.
In tight situations against Luton as well, Gvardiol escaped the pressure with his nifty footwork in a way that not many centre-backs, perhaps even including Stones cannot.
Josko Gvardiol defended and attacked impressively against Luton and continued to stake his place as a regular starter for the Sky Blues.
