Jack Gaughan has now shared what type of punishment Manchester City can expect if found guilty of the Premier League’s 115 charges.
The journalist provided the information when answering questions for the Daily Mail.
So, what type of punishment can Manchester City expect if found guilty? Let’s take a look…
Manchester City potential punishment
Well, Gaughan claims that the Citizens will be handed an unprecedented level of punishment if found guilty of the 115 alleged financial breaches.
The Daily Mail’s Manchester City correspondent wrote: “Huge punishments, the likes of which we’ve never seen. Relegation, titles stripped. It’d blow a hole in the Premier League.
“City are insistent they will clear their name. Unlike other teams, they’ve rejected the accusations rather than accept charges, hence why this is taking so long.”

Manchester City really do have to win this legal battle, or it could plunge the club into oblivion.
There is one man who feels the Citizens will emerge victorious – Darragh MacAnthony, Chairman of Peterborough.
The Irishman told The Hard Truth podcast that he feels Manchester City “are not mugs” and will have prepared themselves properly for this unprecedented battle against the Premier League.
Manchester City just have to keep going
This situation is surely causing a huge amount of stress to those in the boardroom at Manchester City.
To make matters worse, any further achievements under Pep Guardiola are going to be downplayed while Manchester City remain under investigation.

However – as Gaughan states – the Citizens strongly believe they are innocent, so those at the Etihad Stadium just have to keep things ticking along as they are, and try to focus on winning more silverware under Guardiola.
Manchester City have the best lawyers available to deal with the matter, so the coaching staff and players should feel comfortable enough to remain concentrated on their jobs and continue to deliver out on the pitch.
