Robbie Fowler has said that Declan Rice should opt for a transfer to Manchester City instead of Arsenal next season.

The well-known pundit made this claim in his column for the Mirror about the 24-year-old, who City are confident about signing, as per a report on Saturday.

Former Manchester City striker Robbie Fowler himself believes the treble-winners are the superior destination to Arsenal for Declan Rice.

Robbie Fowler suggests Declan Rice to snub Arsenal for Manchester City transfer

Branded as ‘so smart’ by Jack Grealish, the highly-rated midfielder now has to make the biggest decision of his footballing career so far.

While Pep Guardiola’s side have come off the back of a historic treble-winning campaign, Mikel Arteta and Co. have one of the most exciting projects the game has to offer.

However, Robbie Fowler described the decision as to join Manchester City instead of Arsenal as a ‘no-brainer’ for Declan Rice.

“If Declan Rice wants to win trophies, then he must sign for Manchester City”, he wrote.

“Apologies to any Arsenal fans who think that the West Ham midfielder can realise his full potential by moving across the capital. The reality is that the Gunners are a work in progress who punched above their weight last season – and still finished second to City.”

“The one thing a player is guaranteed when they sign up for Pep Guardiola at the Etihad is a bag full of medals.”

Declan Rice should listen to the English legend

While Arsenal may well become English football’s dominant force one day, Declan Rice should listen to Robbie Fowler and join Manchester City, who are set to be the favourites on all fronts in the following campaign as well.

With Pep Guardiola in charge until 2025 as well, the once-in-a-lifetime chance to work under him would give the West Ham captain the chance to develop in a manner that he may perhaps never under any other coach.

Likely to pick up a number of trophies while also becoming the best version of himself at the Etihad Stadium, Fowler is right in dubbing the decision as a ‘no-brainer’ for Rice.
