Manchester City have seen many players make moves in and out of the club in recent years.
Since Pep Guardiola took charge of City back in 2016, many of the 90 players he’s used have walked away from the Etihad Stadium.
For instance, the previous summer transfer window saw Julian Alvarez, Joao Cancelo, Liam Delap and Sergio Gomez leave City on permanent deals to join other clubs.
For the Argentine, Guardiola said Alvarez wanted a new challenge away from City, which is why he made his exit after just two years at the club.
With the 53-year-old now guiding the players in his current City squad to potentially become the first side to win five consecutive Premier League trophies, a claim has emerged regarding the future of one of those key players.

Darren Bent claims Phil Foden is never going to leave Man City
While discussing Phil Foden’s disappointing form for England, Darren Bent said this in a recent video shared on the talkSPORT YouTube channel when asked if the midfielder would be able to shine if Guardiola became the new Three Lions manager.
He said: “100%. I’ve got no doubts about that because Pep will know how to use him and get the best out of him.
“I just don’t think you’ll see the very best of Phil Foden playing for England while he’s at Manchester City.
“And he’s always going to be at Manchester City, he’s not going to go anywhere else.”
What has Foden said about potentially leaving City?
After making 42 combined appearances for City’s youth academy, Foden made his senior debut for the club back in November 2017.
Since then, the £225k-a-week midfielder has gone on to feature in 277 games with Guardiola’s side.
Across those matches, the Englishman has scored 88 goals, supplied 54 assists and won multiple domestic and European trophies.
Out of those 88 goals, Foden named his winning goal against Tottenham Hotspur in 2019 as his most important one for City and played a big part in making him the player he is today.
Back in December, Foden said in an interview shared on the club’s official website that he has only ever seen himself as a City player, reducing the chances of him ever leaving the club.
As a boyhood City supporter, it’s easy to see why Bent thinks Foden will never end up leaving the club, which should delight a lot of fans given how impressive he’s been since becoming a first-team player.
