Simon Jordan has said that football did not have a player like Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson Moraes 10 years ago.
Speaking on talkSPORT, he gave his two cents on the £34.7 million (Guardian) man.
Simon Jordan firmly believes Ederson is truly one of one in the way he that approaches goalkeeping.
Simon Jordan says Ederson is the most unique goalkeeper football has seen for 10 years
Branded as a player with ‘unique ability’ by Joleon Lescott (via the Daily Mail), the Brazilian international has revolutionised the sport.
Much like Bayern Munich legend Manuel Neuer, the five-time Premier League winner’s incredible ball-playing ability and proactive sweeping is what sets him apart from the rest.
Simon Jordan believes the same as he emphasised how one-of-a-kind of a goalkeeper Ederson truly is.

“10 years ago, no one would have ever imagined, not Martin [O’Neill] or maybe he’ll tell me something different that goalkeepers could play the way Ederson plays and does the things that he does”, he said.
And so that’s an evolution and a revolution in the expectations.”
Ederson could be the most underappreciated player in the Guardiola era
Simon Jordan is spot on and in terms of sheer uniqueness, Ederson belongs in the same category as Manuel Neuer.
In the Premier League especially, the former Benfica No.1’s arrival led to other teams following suit by signing ball-playing goalkeepers.
It is worth saying that due to Ederson making the odd error here and there, be it as a shotstopper or as a sweeper, he has often been excessively criticised by many.
However, what often goes under-the-radar is how the 30-year-old’s peerless passing range, which Paul Lake believes is the best the game has ever seen from a goalkeeper as well as his proactiveness enables Manchester City to execute their style of play.
The difference in how the Sky Blues played during Joe Hart and Claudio Bravo’s time in net and Ederson’s emphasises how vital he has been to Pep Guardiola’s plans over the years.
