Chris Sutton has shared his prediction for Manchester City’s Premier League match against Luton Town.

After losing 1-0 to Aston Villa on Thursday, the Citizens are back in action tomorrow as they travel to Kenilworth Road to take on Luton.

With the Manchester club having failed to win any of their four previous Premier League games, one pundit has backed Pep Guardiola’s side to get back to winning ways on this occasion.

Written in his latest column for BBC Sport where he previewed all of this weekend’s top-flight fixtures,

He said: “There is no way Manchester City won’t win this game. They have to. Rodri is back, which will help them defensively, but they will need to have far more ideas going forward than they showed at Villa Park, where they had only two shots at goal.

“Luton have already pushed Liverpool and Arsenal close at Kenilworth Road in the past few weeks – conceding a last-gasp equaliser against the Reds and losing to the Gunners in stoppage time. They will make things tricky for City too, and I can see them scoring at least once. I just think City will turn up for this one and get the job done.”

With both sides having played 15 league games so far, the Citizens have won nine, drawn three and lost three, whereas Luton have only won twice with three draws and 10 defeats.

In terms of goals scored and conceded, City have found the net 36 times in total, more than any other side in the division, and conceded 17, nine of which have come from their four previous games.

Then with Luton, Gareth Edwards’ side have scored 16 goals and conceded 30, which makes it easy to see why Sutton reckons the Treble winners will walk away with all three points tomorrow.

Given the disappointing run of form City have been on lately, there’s no doubt that they will be looking at this game as one they can win and get themselves back on track.

However, with Luton fighting to keep themselves in the Premier League and the fact that they have made it tough for the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal this season, as Sutton mentioned, City will have to take this game very seriously and be in top form to make sure they get the win.
