Gary Lineker has now given his two cents on whether Sergio Aguero or Harry Kane wins this debate.

Gary Lineker settles Sergio Aguero vs Harry Kane debate

The Manchester City legend is known to be one of the most prolific frontmen in Premier League history, having been such an elite goalscorer despite being extremely injury-prone.

Kane, on the other hand has more goals than the Argentine, which is why some might favour him.

According to Gary Lineker, Harry Kane has now surpassed Sergio Aguero, as he said, “I’d have Harry slightly. There’s not a lot in it, really close, different players.”

“They’re both unbelievable, brilliant players.”

The answer is Sergio Aguero, without question

As incredible a striker as Harry Kane has been for Tottenham over the years, Gary Lineker has missed the mark by claiming that he is better than Sergio Aguero.

Not that every argument comes down to trophies but ultimately, Kane is yet to have played in a side at club level where he has the pressure of delivering when everything is on the line.

At Spurs, season in and season out, chronic failure is the norm and despite the England captain’s boatload of goals, even finishing in the Champions League is considered as a successful campaign.

The same cannot be said for Sergio Aguero and his time at Manchester City, as he delivered time and again in the biggest moments.

The retired frontman is known to be one of the most clutch players in Premier League history, as he gave every ‘Big Six’ club in particular nightmares.

Also, it is worth considering that Aguero joined City in 2011, when they had not won a single Premier League title.

For the Copa America winner to have left with four in the bag as well as every other domestic trophy multiple times and having constantly delivered is worthy enough of him being classed as a superior No.9 to Kane.

Perhaps Erling Haaland winning the Guard of Honour after breaking the Premier League record in his first season in the league has led to the Sky Blues icon being taken for granted by some.
