Paul Merson has shared his prediction for Manchester City’s upcoming Premier League clash against Brentford.
The Manchester club’s previous league outing saw them pick up a 3-1 victory over Burnley at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday.
Their latest match will see them travel down south on Monday to take on Brentford, who beat City twice last season.
Looking ahead to this game, one pundit has weighed in on how he feels the match will go.
Merson drops City prediction for Brentford showdown

Written in his latest column for Sportskeeda where he previewed and predicted the results for this weekend’s Premier League fixtures, Merson had this to say about City’s match against Brentford before backing Pep Guardiola’s side to walk away with three points from a 3-1 scoreline.
He said: “Brentford’s fixtures are horrific, it’s not looking good for them. They could get dragged into a relegation dog fight and I can’t see them getting anything out of this game as Manchester City are beating teams in second gear.
“With Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland back, this is going to be an easy win for Manchester City.”
The Bees also had their previous league game on Wednesday night as they lost 3-2 to Tottenham Hotspur away from home.
This season has seen Thomas Frank’s side win six, draw four and lose 11 of their 21 league games, leaving them just four points ahead of the relegation zone.
This makes it easy to see why Merson thinks City will walk away with another victory on Monday, especially since the Citizens have scored 20 more goals and conceded 22 fewer than their upcoming opponents.
With the Manchester club on the hunt to overtake Liverpool and ultimately regain their Premier League title, this match against Brentford will be one they’ll have to win if they want to take a step closer to their goal.
