After Manchester City demolished Yokohama F.Marinos 5-3 on Sunday, Oscar Bobb claimed that he was dissatisfied with his own showing.

Speaking to the club after the Sky Blues kicked off pre-season in style, the 20-year-old was quizzed about his thoughts about how he fared out on the pitch.

However, according to Manchester City wonderkid Oscar Bobb, he was far from special against Yokohama F. Marinos.

The Sky Blues supporters are unlikely to agree one bit with the Norwegian attacker, whose technical proficiency, excellent ball retention and intelligent link-up play has made him the talk of the town.

Even Pep Guardiola labelled the youngster’s performance as ‘unbelievable’, which goes to show how much of an impression he made upon coming on in the second half for Cole Palmer.

After Manchester City got over the finish line against Yokohama F.Marinos, Oscar Bobb admitted that his display was not up to the mark when asked about whether he felt he performed well.

“Well, not really, not today but keep going, keep training and new opportunities come”, he replied.

A sign of the elite mentality Oscar Bobb has

Oscar Bobb would have been right in being buzzing about his performance against Yokohama F.Marinos.

Barring Erling Haaland and perhaps John Stones, one struggles to single out another player that played better than the silky attacker.

However, instead of celebrating what was a significant moment for him in his senior career, Bobb seems to know how high his level can be at his absolute best.

In addition, Oscar Bobb needs little to no reminding of the standards that are expected to become a regular starter for one of the greatest teams of all time.

As a result, the young buck seems to have the mentality of always striving for more, which is what is required for him to truly make the grade in sky blue.
