Sam Allardyce has shared his prediction for Manchester City’s Premier League showdown against Liverpool.
After beating Manchester United in their previous Premier League game and then qualifying for the quarter-finals of the Champions League in midweek, the Citizens have another tough test ahead of them against on Sunday with a league clash against Liverpool at Anfield.
With one of the most eye-catching fixtures of the season around the corner, one former top-flight manager has weighed in on how he thinks this match will go down.
Allardyce drops prediction for Liverpool vs Man City

Speaking in a recent edition of No Tippy Tippy Football, Allardyce had this to say about the upcoming match between City and Liverpool.
He said: “Depends on Liverpool’s senior players being fit, because I’m not so sure that the youngsters will handle Manchester City.
“From the other point of view, Man City are still a bit leaky, which is unusual. When they win what they normally win, they’re not quite as leaky as they are. So I say it’s a draw, sit on the fence as usual.”
As the former Leeds United manager said, Liverpool currently have a number of players out injured such as Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota among others.
Then in terms of City’s leaky defence, the Blues have conceded 27 goals in the league this season from 27 games played, two more than Liverpool and four more than Arsenal.
Pep Guardiola’s side have also scored fewer goals (62) than the Reds (64) and the north London club (68) at this point in the campaign, which further highlights why Allardyce thinks Sunday’s showdown at Anfield could result in a draw.
Bearing in mind how Liverpool are only one point ahead of City, who are just one point ahead of Arsenal, a draw on Sunday is not something either team will be looking to walk away with.
