It has been reported that Kevin De Bruyne is not fully opposed to the idea of signing for a Saudi Pro League club.

On Monday, it was claimed that the midfield maestro and his family were not open to a move to Saudi Arabia.

In addition, it was reported that the league’s sporting director, Michael Emenalo has been in touch with Kevin De Bruyne, who was also Chelsea’s technical director and played a major role in his transfer to the English club in 2012.

It was also revealed in the aforementioned report that Manchester City would be open to selling the 32-year-old if they were offered a fee in excess of £90 million.

However, that would only be the case if Pep Guardiola’s men decide not to renew the £54 million (The Telegraph) man’s contract, which expires in 2025.

As per journalist Sacha Tavolieri on X, Kevin De Bruyne is “not totally against the idea” of making a move to a Saudi Arabian club.

In addition, Tavolieri has claimed that the Saudi Pro League’s interest in him has been “confirmed”, with the player believed to be the league’s next “big priority” addition.

The Manchester City midfielder should not even consider the move

Having achieved as much as possible at club level in Europe, one can understand why a move to the Saudi Pro League could potentially start to tempt Kevin De Bruyne.

However, in December, De Bruyne admitted [via The Guardian] that he had his sights on becoming “the best player in the world.”

The former VFL Wolfsburg technician still has all the quality in the world to do so.

But if De Bruyne decides to head to Saudi Arabia, that dream will become unachievable.

As a result, Kevin De Bruyne should continue to push himself at the highest level and strive to become the best player in the world as he still has the chance to potentially win the Ballon d’Or one day.
