Some Manchester City fans have reacted after Harrison Parker chose to leave Manchester United for the Etihad Stadium.

The 17-year-old wonderkid has decided to depart Old Trafford for Pep Guardiola’s treble winners, after making a huge impact in the Under-18 setup.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City beat four other top clubs to the teenager’s signature, in what is a real coup for the City Football Academy.

So, what have the Manchester City fans been saying after Harrison Parker left Manchester United for the Etihad Stadium? Let’s take a look…

Manchester City fans react as Harrison Parker ditches Manchester United

Well, this news has gone down very well on the blue side of Manchester.

An earlier tweet from the reliable Romano stated that Manchester United actually offered Parker the best possible deal they could at youth level to get him to stay.

However, it clearly wasn’t about money for the ambitious centre-back.

One Manchester City fans welcomed Parker with a post on Twitter, while another wrote “history repeats itself” along with a photo of that iconic Carlos Tevez poster, after the Argentine also swapped Old Trafford for the Etihad Stadium back in 2009.

Two more Manchester City fans commented on the situation.

One went as far as saying that Manchester United “are not even noisy neighbours” nowadays in a comment that is sure to hurt the red half of the city.

Another said it was a “good career choice” from Parker – rivalry aside, the teenager has a much better chance of winning silverware at Manchester City than he does at Manchester United.

Last but not least, two more Manchester City fans commented on the situation, choosing to discuss Parker’s quality.

One described the deal as a “naughty” bit of business, while claiming that the defender was one of the best up and comers at Old Trafford.

Another went as far as saying that Parker is the next Paolo Maldini – which is a bit of an exaggeration at this stage of his career.

Nevertheless, it just goes to show how excited Manchester City fans are by this deal.

If Parker can fulfil his potential under Guardiola, Manchester City fans will be able to brag about this swoop for many years.
