Oscar Bobb has named one Manchester City player he is trying to learn from.

It’s been a breakout season for Oscar Bobb who has now firmly established himself as a Manchester City regular.

The versatile forward made his debut this season and has already played 19 times for Pep Guardiola, scoring twice and setting up another two.

Bobb has impressed so much he has already earned himself a new long-term contract, with the 20-year-old extending his contract in February by four-and-a-half years to 2029.

The future looks bright for Bobb and he couldn’t be at a better place to develop his game given he can learn from his incredible teammates, like Julian Alvarez.

When asked by City’s in-house media if Alvarez’s development serves as inspiration, Bobb said: “Of course.

“To have a player like Julian is incredible.

“I learn a lot from him, he has a lot of qualities – the way he shoots, the way he moves with the ball.

“He’s an inspiration for everyone and one of our most important players.”

Julian Alvarez deserves the praise

With Phil Foden taking the world by storm, Kevin De Bruyne back to his best and Erling Haaland banging in the goals, Alvarez has started to go under the radar.

But it should not go underappreciated how important the 24-year-old was in the opening stages of the season.

Alvarez picked up the playmaker role in De Bruyne’s absence remarkably well, so much so City hardly missed the brilliant Belgian.

The World Cup winner has also contributed 16 goals and 13 assists this season, a seriously impressive tally which, as Bobb says, does make him one of City’s most important players.

Just like Foden learned of De Bruyne and David Silva, Bobb will come on leaps and bounds training alongside Alvarez and the rest of his City teammates.
