Jurgen Klopp has shared what he has learned from Manchester City during his time at Liverpool.
The German has been in charge of the Merseyside club since 2015 but will be leaving his position at the end of the season.
Having seen City win five Premier League titles during his time in England, Klopp has shared what he has learned about the Manchester club and having to compete against them for top titles.
Klopp shares what he’s learned about City

Speaking to the media (via Paul Gorst) ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League clash against Arsenal on Sunday, Klopp had this to say about City.
He said: “What we learned over the years, if you want to be around City then win all your games because they will. They play incredible stuff and would consider themselves not at their best season, we’ve played a great season and we’re only two ahead.”
During his time in charge of Liverpool, Klopp has won one Premier League, one Champions League, one FA Cup and one Carabao Cup.
In comparison, since Pep Guardiola’s appointment at City back in 2016, the Citizens have won 14 major titles, five of which came in 2023.
This significant gap between the number of trophies the two sides have won shows why Klopp thinks the bar is so high in terms of being able to keep up with the Citizens.
As things stand in this current Premier League campaign, the Reds are five points ahead of City at the top of the table, although Guardiola’s side have a game in hand.
While it’s safe to say that Klopp would love to end his final Premier League campaign with a second title, the pressure will be on City to stop them from doing that so they can make history and become the first side to win four titles in a row.
Moving forward, with City having experience of battling the Reds for a title, they’ll have to make sure they pick up as many points as possible and hope Liverpool slip up at some point.
