Paul Dickov says £54m Man City player was ‘on a different level’ to everyone else vs Copenhagen

Manchester City great Paul Dickov has sung the praises of Kevin De Bruyne for yet another sensational performance.

City returned to European action with an emphatic victory as they defeated FC Copenhagen 3-1 on Tuesday night.

The Parken Stadium has proved a tricky place for top teams to go in recent years but Pep Guardiola’s side had no such struggle as they dominated the match.

First half goals from De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva either side of a leveller for the Danes put City ahead and Phil Foden scored late on to secure the win.

It could have been by an even greater margin but Dickov was impressed by the performance and picked the brilliant Belgian out for particular compliment.

Paul Dickov praises Kevin De Bruyne

Speaking on City’s Match Day Live show, Dickov said: “I thought we were outstanding. Bernardo Silva, Phil getting his goal again and the man KDB with another couple of assists.

“He’s just on a different level than everybody else but what he does do, he brings everybody else, his teammates, up to a different level as well.

“The third goal, the assist, he doesn’t even look, for the assist he just knows Phil’s going to be in that position and it’s a great finish.”

Kevin De Bruyne continues to be immense

You wouldn’t have though De Bruyne had just returned from months off the side lines after suffering a severe hamstring tear, would you?

The £54m man has a habit of returning from injury and playing like a man wanting to make up for lost time and he’s doing so once again.

De Bruyne picked up two assists and scored as he was instrumental in the win, taking his goal contribution tally to 10 in just eight games this season.

It’s a remarkable run of form that, if it continues, could see him crowned player of the season despite not playing for half of it.
