Pep Guardiola believes Phil Foden can continue to hit even greater heights at Manchester City.
Foden has dominated the headlines this past week after his match-winning display against Brentford on Monday.
City were in a bit of trouble when Neal Maupay gave the combative home side a goal lead but the 23-year-old inspired a strong comeback and 3-1 win.
Foden grabbed the leveller on the cusp of half-time with a cool finish and went on to score two more fine goals to complete a second career hat trick.
He has come in for a lot of high praise this week for such a decisive contribution but Guardiola thinks he wants to get even better.

Speaking in his press conference ahead of City’s match with Everton on Saturday afternoon, Guardiola said: “Of course, if he wants to improve he will improve.
“That’s life and I think he wants to do it. He’s doing well.
“Since I arrive he was early, early ages, so young always playing at a good level and he continue to do it.”
Is Foden playing the best football of his career?
Foden has been a football prodigy since he was a teenager and has already won all there is to win in England, on some occasions multiple times over.
Yet, he has still not even reached his prime yet and is continuing to improve season upon season.
Foden has spent the bulk of his career so far out on the flank despite breaking into the first team as a central attacking player.
Guardiola always maintained he would move into the middle eventually but did not feel Foden was quite ready to fulfil such an important role in his side.
The Blues boss’ careful nurturing is paying off tenfold now that he has decided the ‘Stockport Iniesta’ is ready to finally take his destined position in midfield.
Though on paper he is still positioned on the left, the marauding Josko Gvardiol is actually manning the wing which is allowing for Foden to take up positions in the middle of the park.
There he can have a greater influence on games and he already has 20 goal contributions so far this season, just six off his best ever tally.
It certainly is the best he’s ever played and, the exciting thing is, he’s not even hit his ceiling yet.
