Pep Guardiola has coached a multitude of players throughout his managerial career.
During his time in charge of Barcelona and Bayern Munich, the 53-year-old used a combined total of 101 players along the way.
Having been at the Etihad Stadium since 2016, the City manager has used 90 players across the 485 matches he’s overlooked.
So far this season, City have won six and drawn two of their eight Premier League games as well as winning two and drawing one of their three played Champions League matches.
With Guardiola now in the middle of his ninth season in charge of the Blues, he’s taken the time to heap praise on one particular player in his squad who is starting to find his feet at the Manchester club.

Pep Guardiola shares what he loves about Savinho
When asked in a recent press conference what he’s made of Savinho so far this season since his summer arrival, Guardiola gave this response.
He said: “He’s so young, 20, 21 years old. What I like with Savi is the fact that I have the feeling that he wants to be the best. He wants to be the best player on the pitch, he wants to try things.
“He participates in everything, his courage to have the ball and try again. He’s not just scoring goals, but he’s trying, he shoots, last game against Wolves, we win a free kick, I want to take it, I want to take it.
“He’s a young guy I have the feeling that he can become a good, good player. That defines the really good players. With courage, consistent with his ambition he will get there.”
Savinho wowed Paul Merson after just one Premier League game
City secured a £33m deal to sign Savinho from Troyes back in July. Since then, the 20-year-old has appeared in 11 games across all competitions, supplying four assists along the way.
It didn’t take the winger long to impress, as Paul Merson gave this assessment of Savinho’s performance for City against Chelsea in the opening league fixture of the season.
He said: “I was very impressed with Savinho, he did a lot better than Jeremy Doku against Chelsea. He got injured at the end and that’s his problem – he looks a bit light at the moment.
“I’m sure City will work on him becoming stronger and he definitely has the skillset to become an incredible player for them.”
Manuel Akanji also shared how impressed he was with Savinho after just a few days of training with the Brazilian.
Now that Guardiola has shared how happy he has been with the winger so far in the early stages of his debut season at City, as well as highlighting how eager he is to do as much as possible and wants to become better than anybody else, this should delight a lot of supporters.
