After John Motson was confirmed to have passed away on Thursday, BBC Sport uploaded a video where Pep Guardiola had a friendly chat with the legendary commentator during the ‘Centurions’ season.

The Match of the Day icon is regarded as a king of the English game, known for lending his voice to some of the greatest games in the history of the game.

Now, a video has surfaced between Pep Guardiola and John Motson having a conversation that is likely to melt your heart.

It seems as if the chat took place during the 2017/2018 season, judging by the Catalan boss’ recognizable grey jumper.

In a video shared by BBC Sport, Pep Guardiola handed John Motson an invitation to John Motson and his wife to Manchester City’s Tunnel Club, as kind words were shared between the pair during the Centurions campaign.

While Guardiola was appreciative of just how much of a legend Motson was, the latter expressed his delight at witnessing the champagne football on display amongst other things.

The great man changed English football and the commentary scene as a whole since he started commentating during the 70s and outpouring of tributes after his death sum up his staggering impact.

Keeping that in mind, it was truly lovely to see Pep Guardiola be as respectful he was towards John Motson in their chat during the Centurions season, as the latter is a legend of the game himself.

There isn’t much better than witnessing two giants of the beautiful game in their own rights express mutual respect and admiration towards each other.
