It has been reported that Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola aims to tie John Stones down to a brand-new contract until 2027.
This comes from Football Transfers, with the £47.5 million (BBC Sport) man’s current deal set to expire in 2026.
However, Pep Guardiola seems to pushing for John Stones to sign yet another contract extension at Manchester City.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is now dreaming of new John Stones contract until 2027
Branded as ‘amazing’ by Fernandinho, the Englishman is undoubtedly one of, if not the best centre-back in the world.
Last season, Stones’ importance to this side was truly exemplified as his performances in his trademark hybrid role as he dovetailed between either centre-back or right-back and in a double pivot proved key to City winning the treble.
So much so that Pep Guardiola is believed to regard John Stones as one of his favourite players at Manchester City and is eager for him to extend his contract until 2027.

If the ‘Barnsley Beckenbauer’ pens a brand-new deal in sky blue, he is set to become one of the highest earners at the club.
Interestingly, when the 29-year-old extended his contract in 2021, a key detail that was a part of the agreement is that talks over a new deal would begin during the 2023/2024 season.
Extending John Stones’ deal would be a masterstroke from the treble-winners
Regardless of whether or not Pep Guardiola stays at the Sky Blues beyond 2025, for John Stones to have further extended his contract would be excellent news for the club.
It seems like the former Everton centre-half is only getting better and better over time and has become one of his side’s biggest leaders and best players.
As long as Stones finds a way to perhaps improve his injury record, there is no reason to suggest a defender like him, who does not necessarily rely on his physical attributes will decline anytime soon.
