When Erling Haaland signed for Manchester City in the summer of 2022, there would have been questions posed about how he would fit into the club’s dressing room.

Haaland is a global superstar and some may have wondered whether he would have been a difficult personality to handle behind closed doors.

Kevin De Bruyne gave an insight into City’s dressing room by revealing that during his spell at the club, he has not come across big egos as such.

The unity within this Manchester City side explains their success under Pep Guardiola’s regime.

Football is a team sport and if a player considers themselves as bigger than the side they are in or the club as a whole, internal problems seem inevitable.

Guardiola reveals Man City superstar impact in the dressing room

Luckily for City, Pep Guardiola has a wealth of experience in terms of working with big names.

As a result, even if a player were to get out of line, Guardiola is the perfect manager to keep them in check.

With the quality that the Sky Blues have at their disposal, they would likely sanction a player’s exit if they acted out of order.

The English juggernaut seem to be a happy camp, despite having some of the biggest names in football on their books.

In an interview with TNT Sports, Pep Guardiola revealed that Haaland has had an even impact on Manchester City in the dressing room than on the pitch.

On the £375,000-a-week man, Guardiola said: “The impact has been huge, on and off the pitch, especially inside the locker room, has been great. The numbers have been great but not the influence in our game, how we can adapt to him but you know, the future is there and [it] will not be easy.”

Why Erling Haaland and Man City has been a happy marriage

If Haaland was not the model professional and did not express his keenness towards being a part of the sum, perhaps the move would not have worked out.

The Norwegian would have likely scored goals galore but eventually, his relationships with fellow players and the managers could have soured if he lacked the attitude required to play for an elite club,

However, Haaland seems down to earth and interested in gelling with his teammates on and off the pitch.

The 24-year-old seemingly gets along with his teammates at City, which has perhaps played a massive role in their success since his arrival.

As a result, Pep Guardiola has provided such a glowing assessment of Haaland in the dressing room.
