Pep Guardiola makes a prediction on what Jurgen Klopp will do after leaving Liverpool

Pep Guardiola thinks it will be ‘really, really good’ for Jurgen Klopp to take a break from football as it will help him gain perspective.

Klopp dropped the bombshell announcement last month that he would be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season, regardless of how many trophies they won.

The German has been in the Anfield hot seat for over nine years after taking charge in 2015 and cited a lack of energy as a key factor behind his decision.

As of yet, Klopp does not have another job lined up and it appears he will be taking some time out of the game.

Manchester City manager Guardiola knows the benefits of taking a step back from football after he took a year-long sabbatical after leaving Barcelona.

Pep Guardiola makes Jurgen Klopp prediction

But likes Guardiola himself, who took over Bayern Munich after his break, the Blues boss expects Klopp to be back in management one day.

“He will be back, I’m pretty sure,” Guardiola told TNT Sports.

“I don’t know, only he knows it. But for a while, for the football, it will be good when he rests a little bit and relax and take the perspective.

“Because that’s true, when you are every [playing] every three days season by season by season, finish the season, pre-season, again three days, three days, it’s difficult to take a perspective.

“What I’m doing? Who we are? What I want in my life, you know? Sometimes take a break is really, really good. Yeah, he’s going to decide his best.”

It would be better for football

City have achieved incredible success in recent years but those triumphs would not have been as great if it wasn’t for Klopp’s Liverpool.

In two different campaigns the Merseyside outfit pushed City all the way in the Premier League title race and lost out by just a single point.

Iron sharpens iron. City had to be totally relentless, uncompromisingly sensational to claim those trophies. Klopp, by virtue of being a worthy adversary, made City even better.

Klopp is one of the best managers in the game and football will only be better with him in it. Hopefully, he’s back in the dugout fresh and rearing to go before too long.
