Ahead of his side’s clash against Liverpool, Pep Guardiola has said that unless Manchester City do not win every single game until the end of the season, they will not win the Premier League title.

Currently, Arsenal are sitting eight points clear at the top of the table, albeit having played an extra game this season.

As the pressure lies on Manchester City to beat Liverpool, Pep Guardiola has said that their Premier League title hopes are also hanging in the balance.

Pep Guardiola makes Premier League title claim ahead of Manchester City vs Liverpool

While City have often been slated due to a variety of reasons this season, what is not spoken about enough is the standard Mikel Arteta’s side are operating at.

The Gunners are on course for a 99-point league campaign that may automatically put them amongst many as arguably the second best side in the division’s history.

In his latest press conference ahead of his side’s contest against Liverpool, Pep Guardiola has explained what Manchester City need to do to win the Premier League title.

“If we don’t win all of them, then we will not be champions. At the same time, we’re just trying to win the next one.”

“If you see the consistency of Arsenal then we have to win all the games but maybe [something] will happen. With football you never know”, he told the official club website.

Guardiola has hit the nail right on its head

With Arsenal’s machinic consistency this season, it is reminiscent to when the Sky Blues went toe-to-toe with Jurgen Klopp’s side in the 2018/2019 title race.

If Manchester City end up losing to Liverpool on Saturday, Pep Guardiola is right in basically saying that their Premier League title dreams are over and done with.

The Spaniard emphasized a similar point after his side defeated the North Londoners, saying that a loss would have meant their title hopes would have died there and then.

The mission for City is simple: winning every single game until the end of the league season and hoping that Arsenal slip up from time to time.
