Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola should include Jack Grealish in his starting XI for this weekend’s match against Chelsea.
After beating Young Boys 3-0 in midweek for their latest Champions League group game, the Citizens are back in Premier League action on Sunday with a clash against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Looking ahead to this showdown against Mauricio Pochettino’s side, one figure who we feel should be in the starting XI on this occasion is Grealish.
Grealish could flourish against Chelsea

Even though the Englishman has yet to score a goal in any competition this season, the winger has still shown how useful he is for the team and how much of a danger he could be for Chelsea to deal with.
For example, looking back to the win over Young Boys, the 28-year-old made more key passes (7) than any other player on the day, created three big chances and provided the assist for Phil Foden’s goal.
This shows how much of a nuisance he could be for Chelsea’s defenders to have to deal with and could end up embarrassing them if he’s able to create many goalscoring opportunities for his teammates.
He also made two tackles and won all seven of the ground duels he was involved in, showing how effective he can be off the ball in a defensive sense as well as on it.
This performance, in addition to the similar sort of impressive display he put in against Manchester United last month, could make Grealish a strong candidate to start on Sunday.
However, with Jeremy Doku scoring one goal and providing four assists in last weekend’s 6-1 victory over Bournemouth, this could give Guardiola a tough decision to make over which of the two potentially start at Stamford Bridge.
Although, with Grealish’s experience of playing in big games such as the one at Old Trafford, we feel that this and his self-professed eagerness to start scoring goals, could make him an ideal option to start on this occasion.
