Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola should start Oscar Bobb against Huddersfield Town this weekend.

On Sunday afternoon, the Citizens will face off against Championship side Huddersfield Town in the third round of the FA Cup at the Etihad Stadium.

In terms of what the home side’s starting XI could look like, one player that we feel should be in it on this occasion is Bobb.

This season has seen the winger feature in 12 games for City across all competitions, starting just two of them.

Having scored in the club’s 3-2 win over Red Star Belgrade in the final group game of the Champions League and delivered his assist during a five-minute cameo against Bournemouth in the Premier League, Bobb has shown glimpses of what he can do in terms of providing an attacking threat for Guardiola’s side.

In fact, after replacing Jack Grealish in the second half of the Citizens’ 2-0 win over Sheffield United last weekend, the Norwegian ended up playing a tight key pass that led to Phil Foden providing the assist for Julian Alvarez’s goal that secured the three points for City.

This performance ultimately earned the Norway international an overall match rating of 7.2/10 from SofaScore, which is higher than the 6.9/10 rating that Grealish earned for himself on the day.

After the Sheffield United game, Guardiola described Bobb as being “an incredible runner” and a “good finisher” as well as being “aggressive” when out of possession.

With the Terriers having lost four of their six previous Championship games heading into this match, Sunday could be an ideal opportunity for the 20-year-old to once again show Guardiola what he’s capable of doing in this side.

Should the 52-year-old decide to start Bobb against Huddersfield at the weekend and he’s able to deliver a top performance and get City get through to the next stage of the competition, this could help increase his chances of getting more minutes in the Premier League.
