Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola believes Phil Foden has been the player of the season so far, after his wonderful display against Manchester United on Sunday.
City produced a brilliant performance to come from behind to beat United 3-1 at the Etihad.
Marcus Rashford gave United an unlikely lead, and Erling Haaland squandered a glorious chance before half-time to make a few fans nervous.

Pep Guardiola brands Manchester City star Phil Foden the player of the season so far

Foden continued his stunning form on Sunday and there will now undoubtedly be a lot of talk about him this coming week.
Foden has been outrageously good this season for City, no matter where he’s played or who’s been on the pitch with him.
Some anticipated he would fade a little when Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland came back from their injuries. But that just hasn’t been the case – he is just going from strength to strength.
Foden’s consistency has been remarkable and for his manager, there has been nobody better this term.
He said on Sky after the game: “It is what it is. He is the player of the season. With all respect for all the other incredible players, no one has been so decisive as him this season.”
Foden is putting himself in the running for PFA award
It is difficult to consider players who have been better than Foden this season.
Pep is right – he has just been so decisive, and it simply hasn’t mattered when he’s played. He has come in clutch so often for City this term, and he is a major, major reason why City are breathing down Liverpool’s neck.
If he can maintain this sensational form until the end of the season, then he will be very hard to look past for the PFA Player of the Year award.
Having won the Young PFA Player of the Year award twice, there’s no doubt he will be absolutely determined to win the main gong
