Pep Guardiola has said he isn’t sure if Bernardo Silva will be a Manchester City player next season.

Having recently completed his sixth Premier League campaign with the Citizens, picking up his fifth title in doing so, the 28-year-old could still end the season with the FA Cup and Champions League trophies to his name.

Beyond those two finals, the City boss couldn’t guarantee whether the midfielder will be a part of his squad next season or not.

Guardiola unsure of Silva future

Speaking in his latest press conference ahead of the FA Cup final against Manchester United at Wembley Stadium, Guardiola had this to say when asked if this game could be Silva’s last in a City shirt.

He said: “We have one more game in the Champions League final. I hope not but I don’t know.”

The previous summer transfer window saw the Portuguese international get linked with a move to Barcelona, only for him to decide to stay in Manchester.

Taking into account how prominent the 28-year-old has been in Guardiola’s side this season, featuring in all but six of their games across all competitions, it would be a big blow for the club to lose Silva this summer.

To add more concern to the situation, Xavi recently shared his hopes of seeing Barcelona sign the City star, although did describe it as being a difficult thing to pull off, which should reassure some City supporters for now.

Moving forward, once the two upcoming finals are out of the way, the club need to become aware of Silva’s situation and what he wants to do, and if he does want to leave, they’ll need to make sure they find a suitable replacement.
