Pep Guardiola has claimed he knew Casemiro would be a serious signing for Manchester United.
The Manchester City boss is set to see his side take on their close rivals at Wembley Stadium tomorrow afternoon to try and win the FA Cup following their latest Premier League title victory.
Looking ahead to the final, the Spaniard was asked about the impact one United player has had on the team this season, despite being a fairly recent addition to their squad.
Guardiola had information on Casemiro
Speaking in his latest press conference, Guardiola said this about Casemiro.
He said: “I don’t know him personally but when he was in Madrid I had info on how professional he is. I was convinced he would not come here for holidays in the last years of his career.”
Erik ten Hag’s side sealed a deal for the Brazilian from Real Madrid back in August for a reported fee of £70m.

Since then, the 31-year-old has made 50 appearances for the Red Devils across all competitions, highlighting how much of a prominent figure he has already become for the team.
To further highlight how much of an impact the former Real midfielder has had on City’s rivals this season, he ended his debut Premier League campaign with a higher combined total of tackles and interceptions (123) than any other United player, which is something City will need to be wary of tomorrow.
With all of that in mind, despite the significant transfer fee for a player his age, it’s safe to say that Casemiro has had a positive debut season in England.
Having already won the Carabao Cup with the Old Trafford outfit back in February, the Brazilian will undoubtedly be looking to get his hands on the FA Cup, but will have to make sure his side have enough to beat City to do so.
